Psalm 45:13
13 All glorious is the princess in her chamber, with robes interwoven with gold.
In all 150 Psalms, Psalm 45 is the only one that’s called a love song. We start with a glorious King who is both beautiful and strong, anointed by God and, strangely, called God. Then the voice shifts and the Psalm writer is talking to the great King’s nervous bride. The Psalm writer tells her not to look back at her old life but forward to life with the King. Then he describes the bride, in verse 13, robed in gold.
The only way to understand this Psalm is to know that Jesus is the King whom God calls God. He came into the world to purify for Himself a people who would be His forever. Many nervous Christians wonder if they really should give God everything, like a bride to be with cold feet. Others know God could never want someone like them. Right now, hear His love song to you. He will give you true life. Jesus makes you beautiful, wrapping you in His robes of gold.
Prayer prompt: Lord, let me know and believe that you love me.
