Romans 13:11-12
11 Besides this you know the time, that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed. 12 The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light.
As a kid, I used to have this recurring nightmare. I walk into class, and the teacher asks for my research paper. Immediate anxiety. I had no idea there was a paper due, and now I have run out of time to prepare anything. The assignment is due right now, and I have nothing to show for it.
Paul is trying to warn us that there is a deadline looming. One day Jesus is coming back to claim his church. Are you ready if that day is today? Don’t let another day go by where you neglect Jesus. Press into him today, and see how he changes your life.
Prayer Prompt: Lord, don’t let me be caught off guard when you return. Help me long for your return.
