John 5:24
24 Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.
Have you ever had to pull out a child's first tooth? Leading up to it, the child's eyes say it all. They fear the pain, what life will be like without that tooth, and they are questioning if you are even qualified for this job. Then you pluck it out and there is a sense of relief and wonder. In our house, the joy of having the tooth out is followed by some ice cream to celebrate.
Sadly, I had the same feelings about salvation. Did I really want that sin plucked out? Could I really bend the knee to Jesus as King when I really liked being king? Since trusting Jesus I have already been blessed with a joy I couldn’t have imagined. Now, I look forward to the feast we will have with Him, which I really hope also has ice cream.
Prayer prompt: God forgive me for doubting you and help me trust you with my life.
