Military tattoos on old men can look a little rough. That’s because they had deep meaning, if not a graceful style. I understand wanting a tattoo with fellow soldiers, people who suffered together in the defense of honorable things. It would be awesome to remember those heroic and difficult times and think about what drew them all together.
The Christian community is drawn together in the same way. We experience difficulty together as we pursue the same passion. We have one mind which is a mind fixed on the spectacular face of our Lord and His mission. We may not get a group tattoo, but we share the same scars as we carry the same cross. Look around at your brothers and sisters and celebrate those who strive with you!
