Colossians 1:16

16 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.

Paul, in his letter to the church of Colossae, declares that all things were created by Jesus, through Jesus, and for Jesus. That means there is not one thing that exists today that Jesus did not create. In light of this, how can we reconcile the truth of Jesus being the creator of the world with all the brokenness, hurt, suffering, and evil in the world?

Jesus didn’t create evil. It entered the world through the disobedience and rebellion of humanity: a rebellion we’re all part of. Even though we have distorted the creation that was meant for good, God loved us so much that He gave Jesus as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. How can we not respond in praise of our wonderful creator for everything He has done for us?

Prayer prompt: Lord, thank you for sending your son to forgive me of my sins.
