John 15:7
If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
Whatever I wish? As glorious as the Bible is, does it also work like a magic lamp? Is a blue genie going to appear and grant us our wishes? Of course not. But if you can ask God for anything, what would be your heart’s desire?
The end of this verse pops out at us a bit more than the beginning. But note, in order to ask these wishes of God, we must be abiding in Him. No abiding, no wishing. The beautiful thing about asking God whatever we want is that if we are walking with Him, He is already molding our heart to direct our asking to what we need most. He is shaping our heart to desire Him. Are your prayers for more of God?

Prayer prompt: Awesome God, direct my heart to wish for more of you. Direct my mind to want to know you more. Direct my strength to want to serve you. Thank you for knowing what is best for me.
