John 15:3
3 Already you are clean because of the word I have spoken to you.
To be clean after a long hot day of work is a lovely thing. But Jesus is talking about something way better: to be as pure as snow when God looks at you. That is a true gift from God. What do we need to be cleansed from and how does that happen?
Being clean on the outside is not what saves us. Jesus tells guys with really good works, who have it all together on the outside, they are like whitewashed tombs. Jesus teaches it is our heart that must be cleansed because we all are sinners. We can’t change our heart, but Jesus is willing and able to give us a new heart, to save us from sin. He offers you that same cleansing today.
