Hebrews 13:17
17 Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.
In the middle of COVID, as everybody becomes a work-from-home employee and a homeschool teacher, stress is high. I can see my kids wondering why I’m so frustrated, or to use the term from this verse: groaning. How much better for them if they help make it easier on us?
That’s exactly what this verse helps us to think about for the church. It’s not easy leading people to apply the gospel, love their families, and equip them for the work of ministry to the world. What’s more, we have to give an account to God for the way we do it. Do us and yourselves a favor: obey and submit to your leaders. And Pray Pray Pray for us!
Prayer prompt: Lord, please give our leaders wisdom and teach us to follow in obedience to You.
